Geography: Continents of the World, Grade 3+

The Continents of the World class is a weekly class that covers each continent’s key concepts of geography, wildlife and human cultures. It requires strong listening and reading skills, and culminates in a final project presentation to practice public speaking skills. It has 30 minutes of discussion, 15 minutes of mapping skills practice, a 15 minute break and the second hour will be games based learning in groups...puzzles, board games, team based quiz/trivia games and creative projects. Each student will create a final presentation on a continent of their choice. The goals of this class are to become more familiar with continental geography, explore global cultures and ideas, practice team based learning and provide the opportunity for each student to use their public speaking skills to share a research project.
