Literature Genres, Grades 5-7
Explore a range of literature genres while learning about key story elements such as character, plot, setting, theme, etc. This class will require reading 1 assigned book each week and some work at home to prepare for a book club style discussion in class. It will also include a variety of hands on projects that bring stories to life. Students are encouraged to share their work and think critically with the group. (Howl’s Moving Castle, The City of Ember, Brother’s Keeper, The Bad Guys, Bridge to Terabithia, Wonder and a reader’s choice biography.)
