The Kids Market at the Westfield Washington Public Library (WWPL) is a lively entrepreneurship event where young creatives sell handmade goods, fostering community spirit, money management, and confidence. Designed for local youth to become "kid-preneurs," participants set up booths to showcase creativity while learning valuable business skills like customer service, marketing, and goal-setting in a supportive, fun environment. Registration is required for each child participating, table spots are limited. Registration in the CEO in Training class is recommended but not a requirement to participate.

Event Details:

  • Activity: Young entrepreneurs sell handmade crafts, goods, or treats leading into the holiday shopping season.

  • Purpose: Builds confidence, communication, and financial literacy.

  • Involvement: Participants are asked to advertise the event, invite friends, and family to shop the youth seller booths.

  • The last 20 minutes of the selling period can be utilized for trading items with other sellers at the event.

  • Ideas for selling: handmade items such as sewn pouches, jewelry, or beaded keychains, bookmarks, keychains, original art, crocs charms, pet gift sets, hot cocoa bombs, holiday simmer pots, beeswax candle, DIY ornament kits, cookie prep kits.

  • Items that can not be sold: digital goods, slime, bath products, reselling mass produced products, no live animals, weapons or MLM products.

PLEASE NOTE:

  • Parents are required to stay and supervise youth for the duration of the event.

  • We will have special volunteers to assist little ones shopping for parent gifts.

  • Sellers are responsible for bringing signage of sale prices, displays, and money to make change for purchases.

  • Some tables may be split between 2 sellers, to ensure adequate selling space please confirm details in your registration.

  • The Academy of Chaos maintains a ZERO-TOLERANCE POLICY for any inappropriate language, topics, or physical behavior. Any demonstration of verbal or physical aggression or inappropriate behavior, a guardian will be immediately asked to leave with the youth.
